Korean painting: stamp and design
If you’re looking for interactive exhibitions in SP, “Korean Painting: Stamp and Design” is a good tip. The exhibition by Korean artist Suldurumi reinterprets traditional works such as minhwa and bojagi, using contemporary stamp techniques to create a dialog between the past and the present. And as well as admiring the works, you can try your hand at stamp painting and take your creations home with you!

Between Aiyê and Orun

A Sea Called Time
The exhibition at the iconic Mercadão celebrates 200 years of technological innovation by the Brazilian Navy. It features a model of the first Brazilian nuclear submarine and an educational series on clean energy, offering an immersion in the country’s naval history. On the 22nd at 1pm, the event will also feature a special performance by the Navy Band!

Black Paths
This is another of the exhibitions on show as a result of SP Design Week. “Black Paths” highlights Michele Wharton’s textile art, which combines woodcutting and embroidery inspired by the Panamanian Molas. The collection includes cushions, kimonos and six new flags, all printed by hand, reflecting Michele’s connection with the indigenous culture of Panama.

Craft: Clay: Earth Axis
Another tip among the exhibitions on show in São Paulo is “Ofício: Barro: Eixo Terra”, by artist Sallisa Rosa. The show explores the interconnection between human practices and the planet, using materials such as clay and ceramics to reflect on the indiscriminate use of water resources and their environmental consequences.

Citadel
This interactive installation invites the public to enter an imaginary city, made up of 15 “body-houses” made from the silhouette of visual artist Maria Ezou. Each house contains a fantastic universe with automata, lighting and soundtracks, combining art, nature, the city and technology. In addition, visitors can interact by planting seedlings for environmental restoration and creating self-portraits that become part of the Citadel’s gallery.

The Boto
The exhibition brings together works by Luciano Maia (PA) and Rafael Paiva (CE), who explore the themes of migration and Brazilian culture through the folkloric narrative of the Boto. Get moving! Climate and displacement
With the tragedy that struck Rio Grande do Sul in 2024, the whole country mobilized to help the victims. But it’s also important to reflect on what the reorganization of spaces and social displacement will look like in the future.

Gurum Gudum – Between Fairies and Naughty Pillows
The exhibition “Gurum Gudum – Entre Fadas e Travesseiros Travessos” is part of the celebration of Arnaldo Baptista’s 76th birthday, featuring 76 of his works. They include acrylic and mixed media paintings on cardboard, begun during the pandemic, which reflect Arnaldo’s relationship with the universe of play.
