In its 26th edition, this year’s Big Food Festival will take place at Atibaia Station. Inspired by giant food festivals in the U.S., the event features oversized versions of popular market dishes without straying from the original recipe! Portions exceed 1 kilo and are the main attraction of the event.
With its traveling format, the celebration has already visited more than 18 cities. It has attracted at least 600,000 people and drawn attention wherever it has gone. Today, Big Food has established itself as one of the country’s most beloved culinary gatherings.
With themed editions, the event has hosted parties such as Halloween, the Strawberry Festival, and even a Pistachio Festival. This year’s theme, “Big Monster, ” symbolizes the scale of the celebration. Big Food arrives in Atibaia even more “monstrous,” with a larger crowd, more attractions, and even more food.
The biggest coxinha in Brazil

Created by chef Cristian Silva of Baca Salgados. The 118.8-kilogram coxinha was officially recognized as the largest in Brazil by RankBrasil in 2024.
Since then, even when it isn’t actually being served, it remains on display for visitors. It has become a sort of festivalmascot, as it fits perfectly with the concept of showcasing giant foods.
For the record-breaking 118-kilogram version, the recipe uses about 80 kilograms of dough for 40 kilograms of filling. The coxinha can feed around 400 people. In addition, there are logistical challenges during frying, which takes place in a prolonged “oil bath.”
What to expect from the Big Food Festival in Atibaia?

There are even family-sized meal combos. There will also be performances by the band Novos Atibaianos and the official Legião Urbana cover band.
In addition to live music, there will be DJs entertaining the crowd and artistic performances. As for attractions for the little ones, there will be a kids’ area, painting contests, free face painting, and surprises for all ages.
One of the highlights of this edition will be the “Big Cultural Center.” A space featuring book launches, sales of rare vinyl records, and even the chance to chat with authors. The Instagram-worthy venue will yield iconic photos and even allows pets.
