After a season in Rio, “Viva: Life is a Party” arrives in São Paulo with tickets already on sale. The show promises to be an extension of the movie theater. The goal is to make the audience feel like they are part of the film through a mix of immersive sensations. With live music, lighting, and actors circulating among the audience during the screening.
Produced by Aniela Jordan and Luiz Calainho, the performance takes place simultaneously with the film. The singers and orchestra of about 60 instruments are responsible for the sound. The dancers and actors fill the stage, bringing the narrative on screen to life. Michael Giacchino’s original songs are part of the soundtrack and promise to thrill viewers.
Like the experience at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the production in Brazil follows the “live in concert” trend of Disney Pixar animations. In addition, it offers accessibility with sessions featuring audio description, subtitles, and sign language.
What to expect from the show “Viva: Life is a Party”?
The screening invites you to celebrate Día de los Muertos with Héctor. The protagonist takes us on an exciting journey to the Land of the Dead in search of the memory and music that has marked his family for generations.
The stage becomes a journey to vibrant and colorful Mexico. The narrative addresses sensitive topics such as death, mourning, and family ties in an exciting and playful way. It also introduces the world to typical Mexican cultural traditions, such as the Day of the Dead.
The film, released in 2017, won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Remember Me.” And much more than the awards it won, it brings with it the lesson that “those who are remembered live forever.“
