Café Girondino is the kind of place that every São Paulo resident needs to visit at least once in their life! With its historic charm and tradition, the place was once a meeting place for the coffee elite and today it opens its doors to anyone who wants to enjoy a good cup of coffee accompanied by history. Anyone passing through the center of São Paulo can hardly resist the charm of this iconic coffee shop.
After closing in June and reopening in November under new management, Café Girondino is still going strong at its classic address: the corner of Rua São Bento and Rua Boa Vista, right opposite the São Bento Monastery. But did you know that this café opened in 1875 in the heart of the city’s Historic Triangle and only moved to its current location in 1998?

What do you find at Café Girondino?
Whether it’s a quick coffee, a fancy brunch or even a full lunch, Girondino has options for every moment of the day. The menu combines traditional recipes and contemporary creations, with specialty coffees, breads, cakes, appetizers, snacks, desserts and dishes that please everyone from the most classic to the most demanding.
The prices are also affordable, which makes the experience even more inviting. A loaf of bread on the griddle with espresso, for example, costs R$20.90. But if you want to explore further, the menu offers everything from hearty brunches to irresistible sweets to round off your visit.
