Despite having its origins in Austria, this delicacy really became famous in France, where it became a national symbol and is available in practically every boulangerie. Here in Brazil, the delicacy has also become increasingly popular, falling in love with local cafés and bakeries. So we’ve taken advantage of this illustrious date to bring you a short guide to where to eat a croissant in São Paulo.
After all, as much as we love a coffee with bread on the griddle we admit that a croissant with a cup of coffee doesn’t go amiss either, right?

Where to eat a croissant in SP?
Prime Coffee
First up is Prime Coffee, a coffee shop with two units in Tatuapé. After all, the place won the award for the best croissant in Brazil in 2024, with a light, buttery puff pastry that won over judges from all over the country. So don’t miss out!

Joya Boulangerie
The recently opened Joya Boulangerie is also an unmissable stop to try the French classic in SP. In addition to the traditional puff pastry, which can be prepared on the griddle, the house offers versions filled with house-made ricotta cheese or roast beef with Creole parsley and aioli.
To celebrate Croissant Day, between January 30 and February 2, the bakery is offering two exclusive flavors of croissant: brisket with caramelized onions and cheese, or vanilla crème patissière and white chocolate shell.

Rendez-Vous
This French café and bistro has been serving brunches in Pinheiros since 2016 and is another tasty option for trying croissants in São Paulo. There you’ll find flavors filled with sweet cream or ham, as well as the traditional croissant and other typical delicacies such as pain au chocolat.

Bella Paulista
One of most traditional bakeries in SP also offers croissants! Here, you’ll find three versions: plain, with butter and with cream cheese. How about trying one of each?

Brique
This bar-restaurant in the south zone is another option for those who want to eat a delicious croissant in SP. With two units in the capital, Brique offers a breakfast combo with croissant, baguette and house bread, accompanied by jam, butter, scrambled eggs and more. But you can also try it on its own, in the traditional, ham and cheese or chocolate-filled options. The famous pain au chocolat is also on the menu.

Marie Marie Bakery
Marie Marie’s purpose is to be an authenticboulangerie , in the mold of French bakeries. The house offers puff pastry croissants, just like the originals, and is a reference in São Paulo.

Fazemos Pão
This west side bakery also offers delicious, fresh croissants. As well as the traditional croissant, you can try the option with almonds, as well as one filled with vanilla cream or Gruyère cheese. Another option is the croissant sandwiches, with cheese or cheese and ham.
