The search for the best croissant in Brazil came to an end this Friday, the 8th, during an awards ceremony held at the Emiliano Hotel in Jardins. The competition, promoted by the French butter brand Isigny Sainte-Mère, brought together the main names in national bakery to choose who produces the best recipe for the French classic.
The highlight was São Paulo, which took the top three positions on the podium. In this way, the state consolidates itself as a gastronomic hub of reference when it comes to French confectionery.
After all, which is the best croissant in Brazil?
A panel of judges was given the task of choosing the best croissants in the country. The first edition was decided by Karina Ruiz (Viva Bakery), Bertrand Busquet (Callebaut), Chef Viviane Gonçalves (Emiliano), Fábio Pasquale (Le Blé), Arnaldo Lorençato (Veja Comer e Beber) and Claudia Rezende (Zestzing).
Although the competition was fierce, three bakeries from São Paulo – two of them from the capital – stood out for producing authentic and tasty croissants. Check out the winners:
1st Place – Prime Coffee
With two units in Tatuapé, Prime Coffee took the competition’s top prize. Known for its contemporary and welcoming atmosphere, it also offers brunches and specialty coffees roasted in-house. After the award, chef Ismael da Silva Duarte celebrated:
I didn’t imagine it, but I’m overjoyed. It’s an indescribable feeling of mission accomplished. It takes a lot of work, involves study, daily creation… and the reward has now arrived.”

2nd Place – L’Atelier Sucré
In second place, L’Atelier Sucré in Bauru, in the interior of São Paulo, stood out for the quality and lightness of its croissants, which have excellent lamination.
The pâtisserie, run by chef Déborah Franciscato Yuhara, specializes in French pastries and offers a variety of delicacies such as fruit tarts and much more.

3rd Place – O Pão
The artisan bakery O Pão secured third place with authentic croissants made with high-quality ingredients.
With chefs Davi Jonatas Morato dos Santos and William de Moura at the head of the kitchen, the house is committed to artisanal and organic production. In addition, the simple and welcoming atmosphere reflects the bakery’s philosophy of connecting people to real food.
