In September, São Paulo will once again host Brazil’s premier international women’s tennis tournament , and we’ll tell you everything about the competition! Now in its second edition, the SP Open begins this Saturday at Villa-Lobos Park and offers an experience that goes far beyond the sport.
The project comes at a time when women’s tennis in Brazil is on the rise. As a result, this positive momentum has helped put São Paulo back on the official WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) calendar after a 25-year hiatus from hosting the tournament.
The matches will take place on the Center Court and the park’s secondary courts. The goal is to bring together sports, recreation, and entertainment in one place, creating a dynamic gathering spot for tennis fans and enthusiasts in São Paulo.
A ticket is worth much more than just the match itself. The organizers are aiming for a festival atmosphere, featuring a Boulevard with social spaces, big screens to watch the competition, exclusive shops , and various brand activations.
What to expect from the 2026 SP Open?

In addition to closely following the draw featuring eight players from the world’s Top 100—including Paula Badosa, Leylah Fernandez, Yulia Putintseva, and Eva Lys—the audience will also be able to cheer on Brazilian players Victoria Barros, Nauhany Silva, Laura Pigossi, and Carol Meligeni.
In the social area, thefood options include familiar names from last year’s event: Holy Burger, LosDos Taqueria, Vero Latte, Truck da Roça, and Wrapster. The event also features unmissable new additions, including Mil Confeitaria, Otodokê, and Paul’s Boutique Pizza.
To complement the culinary offerings, visitors will have a selection of wines from World Wine, Melitta coffee , drinks from Grey Goose, and Heineken 0.0.
In total, more than 45 brands will be involved in the event to provide unforgettable experiences. Among the main activities, LATAM will present “Match Points LATAM Pass,” an initiative that will reward participants with miles or gifts.
In addition, there will be a photo booth inspired by the iconic signature on the camera lens made by tennis players.

Other prominent brands, such as Mercedes-Benz, Claro, Shopee, Maria Filó, and ASICS, are part of the lineup of attractions, which includes simulators, sports challenges, and children’s activities.
The previous edition drew 33,000 people across practice days and official matches, generated 3,500 direct and indirect jobs, and brought together 38 partner brands. On the court, Brazil claimed the title with tennis player Luisa Stefani, who won the doubles championship alongside Hungary’s Timea Babos.
In fact, even after the courts were renovated in 2025 for the competition, Villa-Lobos Park maintained its free access for public use. This extends the tournament’s legacy beyond the nine days of play in the capital.
