Buffalo cheeses are becoming increasingly popular in the market, both for their mild flavor and their nutritional benefits. One of the producers of this delicious delicacy in São Paulo is Sítio São José, in the municipality of Sarapuí. Located 150 kilometers from the capital, the property is part of the São Paulo Cheese Routes and offers guided tours of its facilities.
For those who enjoy rural tourism, the tour offers a complete experience. In addition to tastings, you can interact with Murrah buffalo, which, contrary to what many imagine, are quite docile and friendly animals !

Immerse yourself in the artisanal flavors of Sítio São José, in the interior of São Paulo!
The farm welcomes visitors by appointment, offering a day of immersion in rural life. During the tour, you’ll see the artisanal production process for dulce de leche, natural yogurt, and cheeses such as frescal, nozinho, and mozzarella.
The products are made from pure buffalo milk, milked right on the farm. So take the opportunity to learn more about these animals —which, amazingly, can weigh up to a ton.
