Tim Maia used to say: “Peace, I want peace!” The April holidays are coming up and a good way to relax might be to head down to the coast. But not just any coast, mind you. After all, who can relax on a busy beach, full of hustle and bustle? That’s why we’ve put together a guide to the quiet beaches on the coast of São Paulo, so that you can spread out your towel on the sand and worry about nothing but the waves.
Quiet beaches on the São Paulo coast for those who want peace and quiet by the sea
Domingas Dias Beach (Ubatuba)
When it comes to quiet beaches in São Paulo, one destination that can’t be missed is Ubatuba. After all, the city has some of the best and most beautiful beaches in São Paulo, many of them in the middle of nature. One example is Domingas Dias, which attracts bathers with its crystal-clear sea and calm waters.
The beach has no infrastructure, just a few itinerant stalls, which makes the atmosphere more reserved. It is popular with those who want to relax by the sea, but it is also possible to find bathers practicing kayaking and other water sports.

São Pedro Beach (Guarujá)
This beach is inside a residential condominium and is not very well known, which makes it a great destination for those looking for tranquillity. About 1,300 meters long, it has rough waves on one stretch and a fairly calm sea with natural pools on another.
There are no kiosks and nature surrounds the place, which makes the visit much more relaxing. You can visit the beach if you show your ID at the condominium gate. There is parking there, but there are only a few spaces, so it’s best to get there early.

Itaguaré Beach (Bertioga)
This is one of the quietest and most secret beaches in São Paulo, nestled in the middle of the Atlantic Forest. It has no infrastructure whatsoever – no kiosks, bars or toilets! – so the visit is for those who want to be totally immersed in nature.
🚘 125 kilometers from the capital
Barequeçaba Beach (São Sebastião)
Barequeçaba is a tip for those looking for quiet beaches in São Paulo, but with infrastructure. After all, it is very close to the city, allowing bathers to enjoy a calm atmosphere without giving up the bars and restaurants around. It’s a very family-friendly beach, with calm waters and a long stretch of sand.
