At 97, Nathalia Timberg returns to the stage with the new play “Fôlego, ” by Andréa Bassitt. The author wrote the script specifically for the actress, who plays Rosa, a woman facing the possibility of losing the theater to which she has dedicated her entire life.
With Carla Marins and Rita Elmôr in the cast, the play brings together different generations of actresses in a narrative about memory, belonging, and cultural resistance. Ricardo Grasson directs, reuniting with Nathalia Timberg after their collaboration on “A Mulher da Van” in 2025.

“Fôlego” turns the theater into a character
In “Fôlego,” Rosa’s theater is more than just a physical space: it is the place that holds the memories of a life built on stage—decades of choices and emotions. For this reason, when the building is threatened with sale, Rosa reacts to the risk of losing a story she helped write.
Andréa Bassitt wrote the script specifically for Nathalia Timberg, weaving the actress’s real-life experiences into the fiction. In this way, the script also celebrates Timberg’s career in Brazilian theater, reflecting on the current struggle to preserve art and memory .
