One of São Paulo’s busiest expressways, Marginal Pinheiros, will be closed this long weekend. The route will be partially blocked this Sunday (the 1st) due to the 32nd Wonder Woman Race, which will start at 5:45 a.m. at the Estaiada Bridge.
Therefore, anyone planning to travel through the capital’s South and West Zones needs to be extra careful. The Traffic Engineering Company (CET) has organized a special monitoring plan to ensure the athletes’ safety while minimizing the impact on local traffic. Stay informed to avoid traffic headaches!

Marginal Pinheiros closed and other roads with restrictions
The road closure on Marginal Pinheiros will begin early, starting at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. CET crews will close the express lane heading toward Castelo Branco, on the stretch between the Transamérica Bridge and the Eusébio Matoso Bridge, to set up the race’s support structures.
Traffic officers will also block access from João Dias Avenue and the Edson de Godoy Bueno Bridge (Itapiúna) to the Marginal expressway. In addition, the Estaiada Bridge and the José Bonifácio C. Nogueira Overpass will be closed to traffic heading toward the Marginal, as will the República da Armênia Overpass, which will be completely closed.

Check out the official detours and alternative routes
To minimize the impact on drivers, the CET has released the official alternate routes. Those leaving the Santo Amaro area toward Itaim should cross the João Dias Bridge toward downtown and continue on the local lane of Avenida das Nações Unidas.
On the other hand, drivers who rely on the Estaiada Bridge should take routes via Jornalista Roberto Marinho Avenue and Chucri Zaidan Avenue, crossing the Caio Pompeu de Toledo Bridge until they reach the local lane of the Marginal. Meanwhile, those who would normally pass through the República da Armênia Overpass should take Bandeirantes Avenue.
It’s also recommended to check for updated navigation apps along your route. This way, you’ll save time and ensure a much more peaceful Sunday on the streets of São Paulo.
