The weekend is coming, and it’s always good to plan outings for those days, isn’t it? One cultural venue that’s always worth putting on your list is the Farol Santander, not only because it’s located in the altino Arantes building (our eternal Banespão) but for always bringing incredible temporary exhibitions to the city.
The coolest thing is that by visiting the building, you get the full tour – including the viewpoint known as the São Paulo flag.
How is the visit to the Santander Lighthouse?
If you’re not already familiar with the cultural space, you can visit eight of the building’s floors. Initially the entrance hall and the Memory Space – which, over four floors, retraces the history of the famous building. Then you can enjoy two temporary exhibitions. And finally, of course, we couldn’t miss a visit to the famous Mirante on the 26th floor.
How much does entry to the Santander Lighthouse cost?
Tickets cost from R$ 20 and are on sale at official website.
The exhibitions can be seen at from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 8pm.
Exhibitions at the Santander Lighthouse:
Smart Lights
On display on the 22nd floor of the Santander Lighthouse, the new exhibition offers an immersion in the world of light art i.e. works of art created through lighting. Through interactive installations and luminous sculptures, the show aims to explore art as something participatory, in which the public can interact with the installations and projections.
Pancetti: the sea when it breaks on the beach…
The exhibition, on display on the 19th floor, invites the public to discover various facets of the painter Pancetti. This is the first time that the works in the show have been brought together, illustrating the artist’s sober and solitary temperament through art.
Yoshitaka Amano – Beyond Fantasy
On the 23rd and 24th floors of the Santander Lighthouse, you can see the art of Yoshitaka Amano. The Japanese character designer creates works where real life and fantasy intertwine, mixing Japanese tradition, pop art and art nouveau with elements of surrealism.
