This Sunday (29), the Museum of Image and Sound presents another children’s marathon. This time with a theme that delights both children and adults: dinosaurs. The “Rawr! Jurassic Adventure” edition is the highlight of March and is 100% free, starting at 10 a. m . and scheduled to end at 5 p.m.
The idea for the marathons emerged in mid-2024; the goal is to make the most of the museum’s space and make it more accessible to all ages. MIS seeks to explore themes that fascinate children, such as outer space and the deep sea. The events are a fun and playful way to explain these phenomena to the little ones.
The schedule of activities
The announcement highlights activities for all ages. From workshops, card games , and movies to storytelling and activities exploring fossil replicas.
Ages 2 and up: Workshops on building wooden dinosaurs , with kits of parts and paints to assemble your own dinosaur species. And kinetic sand activities with a dinosaur theme

The educational content is a partnership with the USP Museum of Zoology and the PaleoZOOBR group.
And finally, the activity “Discovering the World of Dinosaurs,” which will feature paleontologist and professor Luiz Eduardo Anelli. He will explain the lives of these animals with the help of replicas of skulls and eggs, also from the USP Museum of Zoology.
The importance of learning about dinosaurs in childhood

The marathon promises to stimulate scientific curiosity, as well as answer questions through sounds, archaeological artifacts, and stories. This helps introduce complex concepts such as extinction, evolution, and time in a playful way.
In addition to developing children’s motor skills through painting activities, dinosaur assembly , and excavation simulations.
