This weekend, the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), located in Campinas, opens its doors to welcome the general public and school groups who want to delve deeper into the scientific universe with interactive activities.
Open Science is an educational experience that takes place annually at the research center and offers plans focused on the universes of physics, biology, chemistry, computing, mathematics, humanities, geography, life design and robotics. In other words, it’s impossible to leave without learning something new!
What can I expect from the 7th edition of Open Science?
Ciência Aberta promotes more than 90 activities focused on science and technology. The program includes visits to CNPEM‘s 4 laboratories, including the famous particle accelerator, which is one of the most advanced in the world and is located right here in the interior of São Paulo! On May 30, CNPEM will host school groups from São Paulo. On Saturday the 31st, the research center opens its doors to the general public, with no need to register in advance. Just arrive and explore this great scientific center in the interior of São Paulo. The tour is perfect for families, especially children who already have areas of science in their school curriculum.
The National Center for Energy and Materials Research is located at Rua Giuseppe Máximo Scolfaro, 10000 – Campinas. Departing from São Paulo, the journey takes 1h50 and the tip is to arrive early to make the most of the activities on offer on this special day.
