The São Paulo Aquarium is much more than a place to watch fish. This is because, as well as marine animals, the space is also home to polar bears, penguins and even kangaroos. What’s more, children (and adults too!) learn and have fun in this learning and playful place. Shall we take a tour of the SP Aquarium?
What will you find there? There’s even a mermaid!
The Aquarium of SP ‘s mission is to conserve and educate, as well as carrying out environmental research. Through a team of oceanographers, veterinarians, biologists and others, it is responsible for maintaining the well-being of the animals that live there.
It is also home to different marine species, from the most common to the rarest. For this reason, it’s a great trip for those who are curious to learn more about the seabed.
One of the must-see attractions is the Brown Manatee, which is housed in the largest aquarium tank in Brazil. The space offers a view that gives visitors the sensation of being immersed in space. There is also an area for dinosaur fans and a 7D movie theater.
Another incredible attraction is “The Mermaid Dive at the São Paulo Aquarium”, which had taken a break and as of May has resumed its normal schedule. The “mermaids” swim along with the fish and put on a real show!
Where is the São Paulo Aquarium?
The São Paulo Aquarium is located in the Ipiranga district, 600 meters from the Santos-Imigrantes station on the green metro line. Therefore, using public transportation is a good option for visiting the site.
However, if you prefer to go by car, the space also has parking for R$50. This is a one-off fee for the duration of your visit.
