The city of São Roque, 60 kilometers from the capital, is hosting a free culinary event: the Artichoke, Wine & Honey Festival. Expected to welcome up to 20,000 visitors by November, the fair brings together about 40 exhibitors offering everything from artichoke delicacies to exclusive wine labels. Artichoke, Wine & Honey Festival supports producers in the interior of São Paulo
The initiative revives the tradition of the former Expo São Roque, bringing visibility to producers along the Wine Route. The 20,000-square-meter venue features booths selling honey, wine, and handicrafts, as well as a covered food court and the Baden Baden Space, ideal for beer lovers.
To round out the experience, the venue is pet-friendly and features a wooded area, a stage for cultural performances, and a kids’ area with toys and supervisors. Additionally, there is parking and accessibility for people with disabilities.
Culinary highlights of this edition
In the first weekend alone, the event sold more than 4,000 artichokes. The menu features more than ten dishes featuring the ingredient, including preparations with Bolognese sauce, pesto, garlic and oil sauce, and vinaigrette, as well as pastries, salads, and pizza.
To bring something new to this edition, the Artichoke, Wine & Honey Festival features lasagna and artichoke hearts au gratin with a three-cheese sauce. In this way, the festival aims to modernize the menu without sacrificing fresh artichokes.
In addition to the booths, visitors can enjoy the self-service buffet for R$ 98 per kilo, which includes dishes featuring the vegetable, traditional barbecue, side dishes, and salads. Those who enjoy exploring new flavors will find unique offerings such as pork loin pizza with honey and, in the realm of regional cosmetics, handmade soaps made with the ingredient.
