Who says you have to visit the hills of Rio Grande do Sul or even other countries to discover beautiful wineries? We have one of the most beautiful wine routes in Brazil, right here in São Paulo! And very close to the capital, by the way. We’re talking about São Roque, a town just 50 km from São Paulo that attracts hundreds of wine lovers for its wine houses and delicious labels.
If you enjoy a glass of wine, you can’t miss it. To make it easier for you, here’s an itinerary with five tips on what to do in São Roque, the São Paulo wine route. Write it down and get ready for the “round trip”!
Góes Winery
The house has been in business since 1938, being one of the pioneers in wine production in São Roque. Its headquarters are housed in a beautiful Portuguese mansion and, when visiting, tourists can take a guided tour of the vineyards with tastings. And if you like cycling, you can do this tour by bike, in the “wine and bike” mode!

Bella Aurora Winery
This winery, founded in the 1920s by Portuguese immigrants, began with family production and soon became another pioneer in local production. There, you can take a tour of the grape plantations, see the factory from the inside and taste labels from the house, along with typical dishes from the region. Bella Aurora also offers cheese and salami tastings to complement the experience.
📍 Rodovia Raposo Tavares, km 56.5 – São Roque/SP
RilaVida Winery
This winery describes itself as “a little piece of Europe in São Roque”. This is because, as well as producing delicious wines, it offers Iberian cuisine to visitors, providing an unmissable experience. That’s why it’s the best choice for a tasty lunch during your visit to the city!
📍 Estrada dos Moraes, 921 – São Roque/SP
Casa da Árvore Winery
This family-run producer is nestled in the Atlantic Forest, allowing you to stroll through the vineyards with plenty of nature around you. Try wines or whole grape juices while admiring the beautiful scenery, and don’t miss out on the house cuisine, which brings a Slavic touch to contemporary food.
Rodovia Prefeito Quintino de Lima, km 1,5 – São Roque/SP
XV de Novembro Winery
Finally, we have another traditional São Roque winery. The XV de Novembro welcomes tourists every day, with a special tasting area where customers can also take home their favorite labels, an emporium with artisanal products and a coffee shop. All this with a view of the grapevines, which add a very special touch to the atmosphere, of course.
