Did you know that INSS retirees are entitled to cheaper airfare? Since 2024, the Voa Brasil Program has offered domestic flights for up to R$ 200 each way, regardless of the beneficiary’s income. The initiative allows retirees to explore dozens of Brazilian destinations, visit family, and enjoy cultural experiences at more affordable prices.
Thus, São Paulo’s airports become the starting point for exploring the four corners of Brazil. They’re also the perfect destination for retirees from other states to enjoy the cultural scene of the country’s largest city!

The program aims to expand access to air travel by utilizing seats that would otherwise remain empty on aircraft. Although it is a Federal Government initiative, the project does not use public funds to purchase tickets: airlines participate voluntarily and set the offers on existing routes.
In practice, airlines choose to offer unused seats at special rates, subject to the initiative’s terms and conditions. Therefore, availability depends on the airlines’ supply, with no guaranteed dates or destinations. Another important detail is that the fare does not include the boarding fee, which is added to the final purchase price.
How to buy cheap airline tickets?
INSSretirees who have not flown in the past 12 months are eligible to participate, regardless of income. Each beneficiary may purchase two tickets per year: round-trip segments for a single trip, for example. When planning a trip with seniors, therefore, it’s important to note these criteria: age alone does not guarantee access to the benefit.
To check flight availability, interested travelers should visit gov.br/voabrasil, log in to their gov.br account, and enter their origin, destination, and dates. If their preferred dates aren’t available, the tool itself offers suggestions for nearby dates.
After selecting your tickets, reviewing the details, and making a reservation, you’ll need to access the airline’s website via the payment button. Then, simply complete your purchase within one hour and enjoy your airline tickets at a great price!
