Wine tourism is a powerhouse in the state of São Paulo. Here, the grape drink is a hit at events such as ‘Vinho na Vila‘ or ‘Vinhos de Portugal’, which took place this year. The urban wineries of Penha and Pinheiros also attract visitors in the capital. Inland, there are many towns that have the wine route as their main tourist attraction, such as São Roque, for example.
In other words, there are plenty of options for drinking a good wine around here! Even more so now that the Government of SP has launched an unprecedented program that brings together 66 wineries from five regions of the state. The project aims to encourage winemaking and local tourism.

What to do at the wineries?
Each winery has a special program for visitors. After all, these spaces are no longer just for wine production and inserting the end consumer into the production phases is a way for these businesses, often family-run, to diversify their income. Check out some of the activities proposed by the wineries on the wine routes:
- Wine pairing with gastronomy;
- Wine tourism experiences;
- Wine tasting;
- Visit to wineries.
In addition, there are surprising plans to enjoy, such as the Villa Santa Maria Winery, which offers a gourmet picnic in the vineyards, or the Ferracinie Winery and its special tasting that contemplates the 5 senses.
