Considered the highest point in the city of São Paulo, at an impressive 1,135 meters, Pico do Jaraguá is one of the most special destinations for those who love nature without having to leave the capital. From the top, you have one of the most privileged views of São Paulo and can even see neighboring cities on clear days. It’s a walk that mixes fresh air and adventure.

What to do at Pico do Jaraguá:
The great highlight of the Peak is the panoramic view of up to 55 kilometers. But to get to the top, the walk is already a separate attraction: you can choose between trails of different levels of difficulty. The most famous is the Pai Zé Trail (3.6 km, difficult level, 2h30 walk), ideal for those seeking intense contact with nature. The Silence Trail (828 meters, easy, 30 minutes) is perfect for the elderly and children.
Another option is the Lake Trail (1 km, easy, 20 minutes), a wooded path that passes by a lovely lake and rest areas. The Bica Trail (1.5 km, medium difficulty, 45 minutes) leads to a natural water source. As well as the exuberant nature, it’s worth visiting historical sites such as the Casarão Afonso Sardinha, which dates back to the colonial period and has traces of gold mining. At the entrance to the park, don’t miss the Guarani indigenous reserve, where a handicraft fair is held at weekends.

How do I get to Pico do Jaraguá?
Visiting Pico do Jaraguá is easier than it sounds. Those who prefer practicality can drive up via the Estrada Turística do Jaraguá and get straight to the lookout point, guaranteeing an incredible view without too much physical effort. But if you want the full experience, you can take the Pai Zé Trail, a 3.5 km hike through the forest that leads to the top.
Whatever you choose, the walk is free and can be done from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8am to 4pm, with the entrance on Rua Antonio Cardoso Nogueira, at km 18 of Via Anhanguera.
