Now in its 49th edition, the Vila Madalena Fair—or, as it’s popularly known, “Feira da Vila”—is set to take place this Sunday in 2026, and you won’t want to miss it! This year, with a manifesto against gender-based violence and femicide, the fair offers free admission and showcases culture, cuisine, and music in São Paulo.
Under the slogan “Not a Single Voice Less, ” the event retains its traditional attractions while raising awareness of the chosen theme. It stands in solidarity with women and fulfills an important social role.
In fact, this stance aligns directly with the purpose of the cultural event, which brings together hundreds of booths and serves as a showcase for small exhibitors, artists, artisans, and independent businesses.
Furthermore, the Vila Madalena Fair boosts the local economy. In previous editions, this traditional street market mobilized more than 1,200 professionals across organization, service provision, commerce, and cultural production.
Created in the late 1970s, the event has become one of the neighborhood’s greatest traditions. In the 2018 edition, for example, the fair drew as many as 80,000 people throughout the day.
Organized by the Vila Madalena Cultural Center (CCVM), the experience goes far beyond street markets: there is meticulous curation behind everything on display.
With a total focus on artisanal and original creations, the venue has already welcomed artisans from various corners of Brazil and neighboring countries, such as Uruguay and Argentina. There will also be a spotlight on national diversity with creations from Rio de Janeiro and Salvador.
What can you expect from a visit to the Vila Madalena Fair?
With closed streets and colorful booths, the cultural circuit is perfect for discovering original and exclusive pieces. Plus, you can enjoy a great concert and check out the food court.
There, you’ll find decorative items such as paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and graphic art prints. In the fashion section, visitors can discover customized pieces , thrift store options in São Paulo focused on circular fashion, as well as handmade jewelry and cosmetics.
In fact, much of the fair will feature products from small producers, including organic items or those tied to the culture of the Northeast and other regions of Brazil.
Overall, the event brings together more than 300 exhibitors and about 20 musical acts spread across different stages.
Concerts by independent artists promise to entertain the audience at strategic locations throughout the neighborhood. The Radio Stage, the Fidalga Stage—which will feature a surprise act—and the Sujinho Stage, which will close out the lineup.
Children are also guaranteed a place with special performances, creative workshops, and pet-friendly areas. Just like in previous editions, the festival features themed streets, including areas for children and sections dedicated to vegan and gluten-free foods.
