Plane tickets are quite expensive these days, which makes it difficult to dream of traveling abroad. But what if we told you that you could visit other countries by bus from São Paulo? One example is Trans Acreana, a bus line that leaves from the Brazilian coast, passes through the capital of São Paulo and takes passengers to the charms of Peru.
The line covers more than six thousand kilometers in five days, crossing five Brazilian states and seven Peruvian departments. A feat so amazing that it even caught the attention of the Guinness Book of Records, which declared it the longest bus journey in the world.
The journey includes boarding and disembarking stops in various Brazilian cities, including the TietêBus Terminal in São Paulo. Would you take on this adventure?

Trans Acreana makes the longest bus trip in the world
Trans Acreana offers one of those journeys that seem so amazing they’re like a lie. The line starts in Rio de Janeiro and goes all the way to Lima, on the coast of Peru. It covers 6,307 kilometers of road, crossing South America from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. For those embarking in São Paulo, however, the distance is shorter: “only” 5,859 kilometers.
The greatest attractions of the journey are the landscapes. The Trans Acreana crosses three of Brazil’s largest biomes: the Cerrado, the Pantanal and the Amazon. In addition, in Peruvian territory, the route passes through the Andes and makes a stop at the enigmatic Nazca Lines.
The journey is long, but don’t worry: all the buses that operate the route are equipped with Wi-Fi, water, toilets and USB ports. The route makes three stops a day for meals and personal hygiene, with showers available. During this time, cleaning teams sanitize the vehicles.

The Trans Acreana international route departs every two weeks, always on Thursdays. Tickets are available on the website and cost R$1,300 per leg, plus a 10% service charge. This brings the total price per leg to R$1,430.
A special feature of this route is that, due to the long distance, each passenger can take up to 50 kg of luggage. For passengers’ comfort, there is a choice of semi-bed, bed and full bed buses.
Some of the passengers are Peruvians living in Brazil, but many adventurers also opt for the trip to explore new destinations and enjoy the scenery along the way. More information is available on Trans Acreana’s website or social media.
