Revelando SP 2026, the largest traditional culture event, already has a return date! If you’re the type who never misses a cultural outing and loves a road trip to the countryside, pack your bags: the season kicks off on May 15 in Barretos.
Organized by the São Paulo Association of Friends of the Arts (APAA), the traveling festival pays tribute to São Paulo’s intangible cultural heritage. The São Paulo edition, at Parque do Trote, takes place only in September, but there’s no reason to wait! Barretos, about 430 kilometers from the capital, is the ideal starting point for exploring the traditional culture of “Essepê.”

Revelando SP in Barretos: what to expect from the opening?
The“Rodeo Capital” opens its doors to the festival for the third consecutive year. The program is 100% free and features a lineup that brings together renowned national artists and traditional groups from various regions. Check out the highlights:
- Live shows: Almir Sater, Luiz Gustavo & Guilherme, Fernanda Costa, Durval & Alladin, and the Barretos Municipal Symphony Orchestra;
- Cultural events: Catira, Congada, Folia de Reis, Jongo, and the famous Bonecões da Mantiqueira;
- Food and crafts: numerous stalls offering typical regional products.

Why visit Barretos in May?
The choice of Barretos as the opening city for the festival in the interior of São Paulo is no accident. This municipality in northern São Paulo is home to cultural gems such as the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, whose preserved architecture dates back to the late 19th century, or the Palácio das Águias, a historic neoclassical building. There’s no shortage of options to enjoy the weekend!
