From May 22 to 24, São Bento do Sapucaí will host the 6th edition of the Mountain Festival. The celebration brings together nature, culture, and outdoor sports in one of Brazil’s most welcoming destinations, just 197 kilometers from São Paulo.
With free admission, it is an excellent option for active recreation to enjoy autumn in the Mantiqueira Mountains. The organizers hope to attract 6,000 visitors by 2026, putting the event on the radar of festivals in the interior of São Paulo.

Culture and sports in a mountain setting
Since its first edition in 2017, the Mountain Festival in São Bento do Sapucaí has sought to bring the public closer to nature, at the foot of Pedra do Baú. Conceived by mountaineers Michele Dutra and Cosme Manenti, the project has grown and now holds the title of Brazil’s largest mountain festival.
Over the course of the five previous editions, the project has brought together more than 10,000 people and has become one of the region’s traditional fall attractions. The program stands out for its commitment to sustainability, operating under a “zero waste” policy and focusing on positive impact for the local community.
