This Saturday marks the end of the 17th Mogi das Cruzes Winter Festival, featuring a wide range of entertainment across various venues throughout the city. The event, which takes place annually in the city, places a strong emphasis on local artists and makes culture more accessible to everyone during the winter season.
Organized by the City of Mogi, the festival aims to offer free, high-quality cultural experiences to the public. It also seeks to contribute to artistic education through workshops, educational activities, and seminars.
In past editions, the Mogi das Cruzes Winter Festival has established itself with recurring performances by the YouthSymphony Orchestra, local vocal groups, and the Marching Band.
The event schedule also included craft workshops, literature-related activities, and artistic performances.
What to Expect from the 2026 Mogi das Cruzes Winter Festival
This year, exceptionally, the festival will be very special: after all, the festival’s artistic program will consist entirely of artists from Mogi. It will involve more than 1,200 people in 66 activities.
In fact, the festival is also known for aligning with public policies that promote age and gender diversity. For this reason, it also includes the 8th Mogi LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Parade and promotes activities for the 60+ audience during the celebrations.
Throughout the month of July, the festival features an extensive lineup of concerts—ranging from rock to forró—as well as exhibitions, film screenings, literary events, and theater and circus performances.
Among the names featured in the program are the Minha Terra Mogi Orchestra and the Mogi Chamber Orchestra, the Canarinhos do Itapety Choir, and Vox Brasilis. And for children, there will be performances by the children’s symphonic band and school bands, as well as children’s shows.
One of the festival’s major highlights is the “Mogi Feita à Mão” craft fair . In addition to showcasing local artisans, the fair features handmade and original products, including fashion and home decor items.
During the festival, culinary experiences are also part of the program and are integrated into the event’s cultural purpose. During the samba circle performance, for example, the “Panela Coletiva” takes place at Galpão Arthur Netto.
