The entrepreneur’s initial bet was Trattoria Famiglia Mancini, a space with the air of a classic canteen, eye-catching décor and a vast menu. Today, more than 40 years after its opening, the restaurant is an essential tourist attraction in São Paulo.
Two decades later, the Mancini group’s second restaurant was born, IL Ristorante Walter Mancini. And then came the Calligraphia Galeria de Artes, the Madreperola snack bar , Migalhas and the Gato Bravo Vintage Shop.
Thus, that piece of Avanhandava became a hub for gastronomy, music and art, as well as a kind of Italian street in São Paulo.
Today, not only restaurant customers stop by the street. It has become a tourist attraction in the area and the lights that decorate it attract the attention of anyone who passes by.
