Registration is now open for the free Game Developer (Game Dev)course, which paves the way to turn an interest in games into a creative career. Starting in October, the program will offer practical and theoretical knowledge to people aged 16 and older who have completed or are currently enrolled in high school. And best of all: no prior experience in the field is required!
The course is an initiative of the São Paulo Development Agency (ADE Sampa). Classes are held at Hub Sampa Games, an innovation school located at 425 Líbero Badaró Street, in the Historic Center.
Game Developer Course Combines Creativity and Technology
Being a game developer isn’t just about programming: the field brings together storytelling, art, design, game mechanics, and other digital tools. That’s why the Game Dev course offers comprehensive training covering the different stages of production—from planning an idea to project delivery—as well as the basics of entrepreneurship.
The program consists of 180 hours of instruction over 12 months, with online modules and in-person classes once a week at the Hub Sampa Games. As the final project of the course, students develop their own game —which helps them build a portfolio for future opportunities in the industry!
Free course in São Paulo expands access to the gaming industry
The Game Dev training program offers 180 spots, half of which are reserved exclusively for students and graduates of public schools or full-scholarship recipients from private schools. The goal is to expand access to training in a field that brings together entertainment, digital art, and innovation.
Registration is open through September 9 on the ADE Sampa website. The announcement specifies a multiple-choice theory exam on September 12, with classes beginning on October 20. Participants can choose from eight different class schedules, which run from Tuesday through Saturday.
