This weekend, the garden of the Immigration Museum will host the Cultura de Boteco Festival, which promises to bring together popular bar food and Portuguese wines from Lisbon all in one place! Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this cultural project aims to celebrate the culture of São Paulo’s beloved botecos.
Now in its second edition, the festival seeks to debunk the common misconception that wine only pairs well with sophisticated or overly formal cuisine.
Featuring 10 São Paulo botecos and 5 Portuguese wineries, the event breaks this paradigm by pairing affordable bar snacks with white, red, and rosé wines.
Located in Mooca, a neighborhood historically linked to Portuguese immigration, the Immigration Museum is the perfect setting to host the celebration. In fact, the presence of Portuguese producers at the celebration is symbolic in an event that brings together culture, gastronomy, and Portugal’s strong influences on Brazilian cuisine.
