São Bento Monastery
It’s impossible to leave São Bento station and miss the São Bento Monastery. Huge and imposing, the building is over 400 years old. Inside, you can be enchanted by the Gregorian chants played at daily masses, watch the rays of sunlight coming through the colorful stained glass windows or spend money in the bakery run by the monks.

São Paulo Zoo
A great program for families with children, the famous São Paulo Zoo is close to the Jabaquara Metro Terminal. There is even a type of ticket that allows visitors to use a minibus to get from one point to another.

Youth Park
Built on the site of one of Brazil’s most famous penitentiaries, Parque da Juventude is one of the busiest places in the northern zone. Just a few meters from Carandiru Station, the space opened in 2003 has 95 square kilometers of green space. There is also a library, technical school, sports complex and the famous Circus World.

Municipal Historical Archive
Close to Tiradentes station is the Municipal Historical Archive, perfect for those who want to learn more about the city’s history. There, you’ll find centuries-old documents and archives of São Paulo, with free guided tours.

Museum of Sacred Art and Liceu de Artes e Ofícios Cultural Center
In addition to the Historical Archive, Tiradentes station is also very close to the Museum of Sacred Art, which is dedicated to studying and preserving religiosity here in São Paulo. There you’ll find religious-themed paintings, for example, but also clothing and rare books.

Ibirapuera Park

Our tip for weekends is to take Line 1-Azul to the Japão-Liberdade station. From there, you’ll find Feira da Liberdade, one of the most important street markets in São Paulo! As well as anime and Asian-themed objects, the place is perfect for sampling typical cuisine.

Visual and historical delights at Sé
Jumping straight off the metro at Praça da Sé is a good deal for those who like to admire buildings. Right in front of one of the station’s exits is the gigantic Sé Cathedral, one of São Paulo’s iconic buildings. If you walk a little further, you can find treasures such as the Solar da Marquesa de Santos, the Palácio da Justiça and the Faculty of Law in Largo São Francisco.
Metrô Tucuruvi and Metrô Santa Cruz shopping centers
You’re on the train and you feel like catching a movie, choosing what to eat from a wide range of options and going into debt in the department stores. All you have to do is get off at the Tucuruvi or Santa Cruz stations, which basically extend into shopping malls.
