Recently, Itapetininga was selected as one of the audiovisual locations for the São Paulo State Film Commission program, an initiative of the State Government in partnership with the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS). What to do in Itapetininga?
The river that bears the same name as the city is just 7 km from the center and offers various attractions, such as fishing ranches, hiking and rest areas. If you like fishing, the Fishing Park is a great place to disconnect from the urban hustle and bustle and spend some time relaxing by the fishing grounds.
Still in the midst of nature, you can visit the Pedra Branca Park and the Regina Freire Ecological Park, where the Chapadinha Lagoon is located. Both offer a natural refuge with trails in the middle of the city’s green areas. There you can picnic, contemplate the flora and enjoy the outdoors.
Finally, it’s worth visiting the Brazílio Ayres de Aguirre Cultural and Historical Center, which also houses the Itapetininga Historical Museum, to learn about the city’s history and curiosities.

Itapetininga’s annual calendar has some major events that move the municipality. Expo Agro has been held since 1995 and highlights the region’s agricultural culture. There is also a Corn Festival, with gastronomic delights made from the cereal; the Boteco Festival, which is also full of typical dishes; and other religious events that bring together the Christian community.
