Located on the banks of the Paranapanema River, Pedrinhas Paulista is considered one of the most Italian cities in São Paulo. While São Roque has a replica of the Trevi Fountain, this town hides a small Colosseum.
The “Italian Capital in Brazil” is the result of a 1952 European colonization program. Today, the region is home to just over 3,000 inhabitants, its economy is based on the agricultural sector and it also has the Italian language on the elementary school curriculum, as well as the population using the language informally.

What to do in Pedrinhas Paulista?
Without a doubt, one of the biggest attractions in this small town is the Arena de Eventos, a replica of the Roman Colosseum, which is located in the city center. Its architecture is a great attraction as it brings a copy of one of the world’s most famous tourist attractions to the interior of São Paulo.
Nearby, visitors will find the Memorial to the Italian Immigrant, with monuments and statues of Roman warriors representing the union between Brazil and Italy. When you pass by, be sure to record your visit. This tourist spot has several places to take photos.
In addition, the Igreja Matriz de São Donato, the Bosque Municipal, the town’s Cultural Center and the Cine Teatro Municipal are attractions in Pedrinhas Paulista that shouldn’t be left out of your itinerary.

Visit the “Italian Capital of Brazil”!
Pedrinhas Paulista is a 5h30 drive from the capital. Despite the distance, the time spent on the road is rewarded by beautiful tourist attractions and tranquillity, as the town receives no more than 11,000 tourists a year. In other words, it’s a haven of history, culture and nature for those who enjoy traveling.
In contrast to the quiet town, the municipal agenda is packed with activities such as the São Donato Festival, the city’s anniversary, traditional horseback rides by tropeiros groups and motorcycle meetings.
