On June 27, Sesc Belenzinho will host a field trip to Holambra, known as the city of flowers. Sesc’s Social Tourism program aims to make leisure activities more accessible. The itinerary includes bus transportation, meals, and the services of a certified guide throughout the tour.
In the metropolitan region of Campinas, 120 kilometers from the capital, Holambra symbolizes a colony of Dutch immigrants. It was founded around 1948, after World War II. The name itself reflects this, as it is a combination of “Holland + America + Brazil.”
Over time, the city gained notoriety for its thriving trade and cultivation of flowers and ornamental plants. It is one of Brazil’s largest hubs in the industry and has already earned the official title of National Capital of Flowers.
Thus, combining the local quality of life with architecture heavily influenced by Dutch design, Holambra has become one of São Paulo’s major tourist destinations.
