In the heart of São Paulo, amid parks and skyscrapers, there is a little-known place that intrigues even the locals. We are talking about Vila Secreta, built over decades by traveling salesman Raful de Raful.
Formerly known as Rafulândia, the village spent years hidden in Aclimação and opened its doors thanks to the initiative of Victor Raful, the creator’s grandson. Currently, the space welcomes visitors and holds surprises that seem to transport us to a parallel universe within the city.

Discover São Paulo’s Secret Village!
Vila Secreta is a curious complex of buildings in Aclimação, with colonial houses and cultural spaces. There you can explore a chapel, a small prison, and even a theater! The curious detail is that Raful de Raful himself performed on this stage, since, in addition to being a traveling salesman, he was also a magician.
The old Rafulândia also houses the townhouse where Raful lived. The house has been turned into a museum and now holds several rare objects that the owner collected throughout his life, such as a cylindrical piano and Edison lamps. Pieces as unique and singular as Mr. Raful himself!
How can you visit the old Rafulândia?
Vila Secreta is located at Rua Rubi, 50, in the Aclimação neighborhood. Visits cost R$ 35 and take place on Fridays at 3 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. From time to time, Mr. Raful’s village also hosts special visits with gastronomic experiences.
The tour is free and you can take pictures at will. In addition, those who visit this secret treasure of Aclimação have the chance to talk to Victor Raful, who shares stories about the construction of the village and the life of his grandfather, whose dedication made the space a reality.
