To help you cool off this summer, here’s an unmissable tip for escaping the heat of São Paulo without having to travel long distances. Located in Guarujá, Praia de São Pedro offers a setting of clear waters and preserved Atlantic Forest, and is one of those hidden corners that we love so much on the São Paulo coast.
Access to the beach – which, as Brazilian law dictates, is public – is via residential condominiums, which gives it an air of exclusivity and security. All this added to the fact that there are no shops on the sand, makes it ideal for those who prioritize silence and contact with nature.

Trails, natural pools and good waves
São Pedro Beach is a paradise for sports lovers, especially surfers and bodyboarders, due to its strong waves. Swimmers can also explore the natural pools that appear in the middle of the rocks at low tide.
Another detail is the location: the beach is embedded in the Serra do Guararu Park, an environmental preservation area. As a result, a beautiful patch of Atlantic Forest frames the crystal-clear sea, giving the region the air of a tropical refuge.
But beware: the sea is tumbling which means it gets deep quickly. Families with children or the elderly should therefore take extra care!

How to visit São Pedro Beach?
Located 125 kilometers from the capital of São Paulo, São Pedro Beach is the perfect choice for a day trip or a long weekend. Although travel times vary depending on traffic, the reward is one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches on the south coast.
The entrance is via two residential condominiums, Tijucopava or Iporanga. Both have parking lots with limited spaces, so we recommend arriving early in the morning if you want to spend the day there. You need to identify yourself to access the beach, and in return, visitors can take advantage of the infrastructure with showers, toilets and drinking fountains.
But remember that there are no shops on the sand! So bring snacks and all the items you need to spend the day, such as towels, yokes, sunscreen and bags for collecting garbage. After all, preserving this paradise depends on all of us.
