In 2024, in addition to winning three selections in the world’s most renowned gastronomic awards, Tuju also stood out for its architecture. Most beautiful restaurant in the world
Despite opening its doors last year, the TUJU carries all of São Paulo’s gastronomic power. The proof of this is the number of awards won in such a short time of operation. Recently, a surprise: the Prix Versailles declared the seasonal menu house one of the 16 most beautiful in the world. An achievement of this size is not for everyone!
Talking about the design of the environment, there you’ll find a variety of wooden furniture, a vertical garden with an astonishing three floors, an internal patio that simulates an oasis and, at the bar, a huge glass wall measuring five meters in height. As for the decoration, many points stand out for their Brazilianness, among them:
- Box of whale bones from Ilhabela;
- Pitu shrimp traps used in Bahia;
- Bull skull brought from Goiás
All this was only possible thanks to the collaborative architectural project by the offices of Angelo Bucci and Raul Pereira.
It’s not all glamor
In recent days, not only the title of one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world and the Michelin stars have brought the spotlight to Tuju. An operation by Federal Police seized a luxurious lot of wines in the house on suspicion of irregular importation.
The 352 bottles seized cost around 1 million reais and some of them were to be used for two exclusive dinners that customers had to pay at least 15 thousand reais to attend .
In its defense, Tuju claims to be in possession of all the invoices necessary to affirm the legal origin of the drinks.
