Many people believe that the Michelin Guides only refer to haute cuisine restaurants. However, it’s more than that. In addition to the famous stars, the Guide also recognizes restaurants that combine good quality with a fair price, according to each country. They are therefore included in the “Bib Gourmand” category .
The Michelin Guide has listed the award-winning restaurants in Brazil, 33 of which are here in São Paulo. Among them, five are newcomers, appearing on the list for the first time. Check them out!
Casa do Porco
The restaurant specializing in pork combines refined techniques with affective flavours in its creations. Chef Jefferson Rueda offers both à la carte dishes and a tasting menu. The restaurant has also been awarded a green star.

Chef Lucas Dante’s signature cuisine uses fresh, seasonal ingredients and techniques such as smoking, maturation and fermentation. The result goes perfectly with the pairings made by the house sommelier, Gabrielli Fleming.

Clandestine
With organic ingredients from small producers, chef Bel Coelho’s contemporary Brazilian menu has a cozy feel, but is full of personality. Among the creations, the ” tempurá de pimenta-de-cheiro ” with shrimp and bacuri sauce stands out.

The restaurant run by chef Iago Jacomussi stands out for its mix of Brazilian flavors with European and Asian references. There, the menu is seasonal and there’s a surprising drinks menu, with classic and signature options.

Manioca da Mata
The result of a bet by chef Helena Rizzo and run daily by chef Fernanda Fernandes, Manioca da Mata is a bistro that offers casual, relaxed home cooking with signature touches. It combines snacks, pasta, gourmet burgers and serves exclusive dishes such as fish in banana leaves with banana puree and black-eyed pea vinaigrette.
