With locations in Guararema and São José dos Campos, this restaurant lets you enjoy a meal in the air! Hangar Gastronomia is an aviation-themed restaurant with a menu inspired by the world’s leading cuisines.
The experience is immersive and goes far beyond the food, designed to make guests feel as if they’re embarking on a journey while enjoying the menu. The restaurant also boasts a panoramic view and service inspired by flight crews.
Opened in 2018, Hangar is run by the couple Carina Oliveira and Leovaldo Júnior. He is, in fact, a pilot and came up with the concept for the restaurant to pay homage to the world of aviation.
What can you expect from a visit to Hangar Restaurant?
Considered contemporary, the restaurant’s cuisine is strongly influenced by culinary traditions from various countries, including Brazil. The menu features seafood, handmade pasta, filet mignon, desserts, and drinks.
But despite the great food and the beautiful presentation of the dishes, Hangar’s main draw is its decor. As the name suggests, the space was designed to resemble a real hangar.
The aeronautical artifacts, civil and military aviation objects, and the aircraft suspended in the middle of the dining room were acquired from flea markets and antique shops, as well as through donations from friends and aircraft scrapyards.
There are also table options located inside an authentic aircraft fuselage and a genuine museum featuring original artifacts from the now-defunct VASP.
In fact, the service staff also takes part in the experience, wearing uniforms inspired by the crew of a conventional airline.
The Guararema location has an added attraction: a panoramic view of the mountains and part of the city. Considered a true “restaurant in the clouds, ” the space features an integrated observation deck, offering one of the most beautiful views in the region.
How can you visit the Hangar locations?
Finally, Hangar in Guararema is located at the observation deck at 231 Inocêncio de Melo Franco Street, in Downtown Guararema. The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The São José dos Campos location is at Avenida Barão do Rio Branco, 669, in the Jardim Esplanada neighborhood. It is also open daily, with extended business hours.
