The Japanese Pavilion, a newly renovated architectural treasure in Ibirapuera Park, will host the Hachimitsu Matsuri (Honey Festival) 2026 during this long holiday weekend. From April 30 to May 3, the 5th edition of the event combines Japanese tradition with environmental awareness regarding the importance of bees to the ecosystem.
Held in partnership with the Coleção Abelhas project, the festival offers an immersion into the world of beekeeping. Visitors can enjoy a bazaar, educational lectures, and interactive activities that explain how these tiny pollinators are responsible for about 70% of the human food supply.

Culture and gastronomy at the Honey Festival
This year’s program features new additions, such as film screenings, musical performances, and even board games! When it comes to gastronomy, the Hachimitsu Matsuri gains a special flavor with creations from Na Na Ya Patisserie and Mori Chazeria, which have developed an exclusive menu of honey-based sweets and beverages.
In addition to culinary delights, the bazaar offers handmade products such as beeswax candles, watercolors, and essential oils. It’s an opportunity to meet small producers and support the sustainable economy in São Paulo!
To round out the experience, artists perform live painting inspired by nature. Additionally, anyone looking for a lasting souvenir can take advantage of the flash tattoo sessions.

Photography contest and educational attractions at the Hachimitsu Matsuri 2026
One of the festival’s highlights is the 3rd Photography Contest, featuring an exhibition of works in the following categories:
- Stingless bees (Meliponini);
- orchid bees (Euglossini);
- Semi-social bees.
The festival reinforces its educational focus through lectures covering topics ranging from observing these insects in nature to the diversity of Brazilian honeys. Finally, children can learn while having fun through playful activities such as a workshop on stingless bees!
