If you love discovering new foods and cultures, you can’t miss the Bom Retiro Fair. Held since 2022 in one of the city’s most traditional neighborhoods, the multicultural fair offers gastronomic options from all over the world, with Arabic, Mexican, Venezuelan and much more.
But if there’s one culture that stands out more and more in the program, it’s that of South Korea. There are so many stalls with delicacies from the Asian country that many people call the event “Bom Retiro’s Korean fair”!
So, if you’re a fan of dramas or simply want a different kind of gastronomic experience, Feirinha is perfect for you. Shall we get to know it?
Meet the Bom Retiro Fair!
If there’s one thing that São Paulo residents like, it’s a place that combines culture and gastronomy. That’s why the Bom Retiro Fair has quickly won over the public. After all, Saturday is the day to have fun! So there’s nothing better than listening to good music and tasting typical food from different countries in one place.
Most of the stalls are Korean, with typical dishes such as topoki, kimbap, kimchi, batata furacão, bibimbap and hot dogs on a stick. But the big novelty is the flambéed marshmallow pop sicle, a typical South Korean street food that has just arrived in SP.
There are also options such as barbecue, yakissoba, tempura, guioza, Bolivian saltenãs, Venezuelan arepas and Paraguayan sweets. In other words, there’s something for everyone!
How to visit?
The Bom Retiro Fair is free to enter and takes place on Saturdays, from 10am to 5pm, in Rua Cônego Martins. It is very close to Luz station, so a good option is to take metro lines 1-Azul or 4-Amarela.
As well as food, the fair also offers a cultural program, including music and dance performances, including k-pop. To check out the week’s activities, just keep an eye on the fair’s social networks.
