The trains of the Toriba universe
Originally built in 1920, the railroad car once ran on actual tracks and, decades later, was restored and acquired by the current owner. After undergoing some modifications to house the restaurant, it became a central feature of the establishment.
In fact, the Toriba Group clearly has a genuine passion for trains. Although it’s a different kind of experience, they also offer the “Expresso Toriba” as part of their lineup of attractions in Campos do Jordão.
Inside the Hotel Toriba, the luxury suite is housed in another railroad car, this time from 1940. It features wood paneling, a marble-clad bathroom, and a decor strongly inspired by the iconic Orient Express.
How to visit the Estação Toriba Restaurant?
The restaurant is located at the entrance to the Hotel Toriba, next to the Toriba Lookout: Avenida Ernesto Diederichsen, 2962, in the Monte Carmelo neighborhood of Campos do Jordão.
You don’t have to be a hotel guest, and the restaurant generally doesn’t require reservations, serving customers on a first-come, first-served basis. This means there may be a wait during peak season. It’s also worth noting that the restaurant is pet-friendly, although pets are restricted to the outdoor area.
