Ema Klabin House Museum: the collector’s history and legacy
Ema Klabin was born in 1907, the daughter of Jewish immigrants from Lithuania. Growing up, she became a frequent traveler and had the habit of acquiring works of art whenever she arrived at a destination. Over the years, she amassed a large collection of paintings by Renoir, Di Cavalcantti, Tarsila do Amaral, Marc Chagall and other great artists from Brazil and around the world.
The collection also includes 12th century Asian sculptures, 19th century sacred images and African carpets. All this in Klabin’s former residence, a 1950s house whose architecture is inspired by the Sanssouci Palace in Germany, with beautiful gardens designed by Burle Marx.

Cultural activities at affordable prices!
