Seven of the best restaurants in Latin America are in São Paulo. So says Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants one of the continent’s most respected gastronomic guides, which announced its Top 50 Latin American restaurants on the 26th.
Along with Lima, Peru, São Paulo is the city with the highest number of representatives on the list. The ranking is based on the votes of 300 judges, including chefs, gastronomic journalists and other experts in the field.

The House of Pork
Specializing in pork, A Casa do Porco is in 15th place on the list, making it the best-placed São Paulo representative in the ranking of the best restaurants in Latin America. Under the command of chefs Jefferson and Janaína Rueda, one of the house’s standout dishes is the San Zé Pork, slow-roasted for 6 to 9 hours. Don’t miss it!

Tuju
Opened in 2023, Tuju is ranked 16th in the Latin American Top 50. The haute cuisine restaurant serves “seasonal São Paulo cuisine”, which means that the menu changes according to the season, bringing the best flavors of each season. In addition to the new award, the restaurant was also featured in the Michelin Guide 2024, receiving two traditional stars and one green star, attesting to its commitment to sustainability.

Evvai
In 20th place in the ranking is Evvai, which also won two Michelin stars in 2024. The menu offers an authorial and sophisticated cuisine that delves into its Italian roots and the cultural fusion created from the arrival of this people in Brazil to compose the menu. The restaurant offers creative dishes that pay homage to Italian tradition while absorbing Brazilian influences.

Nelita
Next up is Nelita, ranked 26th among the best restaurants in Latin America. Led by chef Tássia Magalhães, the restaurant offers modern cuisine with an Italian influence. Among its standout dishes are the goat’s cheese agnolotti with black garlic and honey or the pork with pear and toasted bread, which offer an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Metzi
Another restaurant that won an award this week was Metzi, whose cuisine combines the authentic flavors of Mexican cuisine with Brazilian ingredients. The restaurant, which came 27th on the list, seeks to reveal the cuisine of the Latin country in São Paulo, making great use of vegetables and seafood. There is a vegetarian menu option.

In 35th place is Maní, an icon of haute cuisine that also has a Michelin star. The home of chefs Helena Rizzo and Willem Vandeven serves not only à la carte dishes, but also a tasting menu that offers a delicious fusion of Brazilian, Asian and European cuisine.

Kotori
Finally, we have Kotori as the 50th best restaurant in Latin America. The place was born as a yakitori bar, serving traditional Japanese skewered chicken. Today, this heritage can be seen in the strong presence of chicken on the menu, making up the majority of the dishes.
