São Paulo has (almost) everything. But the beaches are lacking, aren’t they? Perhaps that’s why, whenever possible, people from São Paulo travel to the coast. With this in mind, we’ve selected some beaches near São Paulo that you can go to whenever you want.

Guarujá
Guarujá has everything from residential buildings to resorts. All this just 100 km from São Paulo! According to the city council, the beauty and nature of its 27 beaches have earned it the title of “Pearl of the Atlantic”.
Praia Grande
Praia Grande is one of the most popular destinations on the São Paulo coast. After all, it is one of the closest beaches to the capital, some 76 km away. It is also one of the busiest during the summer and on public holidays.
Bertioga
Bertioga has some of the most beautiful beaches in the state and more than 90% of its territory is permanently preserved. What’s more, it takes about two hours to drive the 130 km between São Paulo and the city.
Santos
About 72 km from the city of São Paulo is the famous and beloved Santos. Here, tourists can enjoy the beach, history, culture and adventure. In other words, with so many options, it’s easy to see why the city is a perfect place to visit on a trip.
Itanhaém
On the south coast, Itanhaém is the second oldest city in the state and is about 110 km from São Paulo. Among its many attractions is its area of semi-inhabited Atlantic Forest, which has earned the city the nickname “Amazônia Paulista”.
São Vicente
São Vicente borders Santos and Praia Grande. Just 75 km away you can enjoy the beaches of Brazil’s first city, founded in 1532.
Ubatuba
If you’re thinking of seeing the sea, don’t forget to add Ubatuba to your itinerary. After all, the city on the north coast is just 3 hours from the capital and has crystal-clear and emblematic beaches, such as the smallest beach in the world. As well as Ubatuba Beach, voted one of the best in the southeast by the people of São Paulo.
São Sebastião
Finally, little São Sebastião is another destination with beautiful beaches, very close to São Paulo. About 200 km from the capital, the town has a countryside feel that’s perfect for taking a break from the stress of São Paulo, all with beaches with crystal-clear blue waters.
