Parque do Basalto, located in Araraquara, has just opened a brand new ornamental lake, where visitors can contemplate the local flora and fauna. The new tourist attraction has environmental education as its purpose and, in addition, praises the water resources of the Tietê and Jacaré Watershed, promoting an opportunity for connection, learning and leisure.

The Basalt Park has a complete infrastructure for you to enjoy a relaxing day of leisure. The new ornamental lake is landscaped with fish and other aquatic animals that add to the attraction’s beauty.
Visitors will also find more than 350 species of trees and 110 cataloged species of birds to observe, an incredible waterfall, basalt rock walls, a children’s playground and ecological trails to explore the park’s nature.

The park is located about 290 km from São Paulo, on Avenida São João, Jardim Pinheiros, in Araraquara and is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8am to 6pm. Admission is free and it is forbidden to bring pets or alcoholic beverages. In addition, you won’t need to wear a bathing suit, as bathing in the waterfall is not allowed.
