With free programming and lots of new features, the Sesc Arena will be in the Historic Center of São Paulo until February 23rd. This project is part of Sesc Verão 2025 and offers São Paulo residents a wide range of sports, cultural and musical activities.
The arena, also called “Praia do Centro” (Downtown Beach ), is located under the Viaduto do Chá and you can get off at São Bento and Anhangabaú Stations. So, if you like our trail of 50 things to do for less than R$50, you can add this extra suggestion to your list!

The title of “São Paulo’s beach” is usually associated with Ibirapuera Park, but until the last Sunday in February, you can enjoy some leisure time with your feet in the sand at Arena Sesc. Temporarily built under the Viaduto do Chá, the space promotes experiences and sports activities such as beach volleyball, beach tennis and footvolley. There is also a cultural and musical program running simultaneously.
The arena is open from Monday to Friday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on weekends, from 10 a.m. to 6 p. m., except on January 25 and 26. Check out some of the highlights of the program:
- 10/01, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.: performance by the front committee of the Tom Maior samba school;
- 11/01, from 2pm to 4pm: women’s beach volleyball with the pairs Sandra/Jaqueline and Adriana/Mônica;
- 12/01, from 1pm to 2pm: Charanga do França carnival block;
- Lambaerobics experience every day at 5pm.

About Sesc Verão 2025:
In addition to the arena, all the Sesc units are offering various activities and attractions free of charge to the general public. In other words, you don’t need a card to take part! The program includes presentations and chats with Olympic and Paralympic athletes such as: Bia Souza, Flávia Saraiva, Julia Soares and Arthur Zanetti.
