Some people think that you need a lot of outdoor experience to go hiking . But that’s not necessarily true! Proof of this is the Vamos Trilhar project, which invites the population of São Paulo to walk through the city’s parks every week.
In the company of guides and monitors, participants can get to know the city’s green areas in a safe and accessible way, regardless of their level of experience with trails. So if you’d like to connect with nature this year, check out all the details and take part!
Vamos Trilhar: get to know SP’s green areas!
The project, run by São Paulo City Hall, will promote guided tours throughout 2025. Participants will have the opportunity to visit forest reserve areas within the capital, in the company of monitors and guides who will provide information on the conservation of the site.
The meetings take place at weekends in five parks in the capital:Parque Itaim, Parque Jaceguava, Parque Varginha and Parque Bororé, all in the south; and Parque Fazenda do Carmo, in the east. There will be a free transfer to the park, which will pick up participants from train or subway stations.
The trails are easy, so feel free to invite the whole family to enjoy nature! In addition to enjoying a day outdoors, each visitor gets a kit with a T-shirt, water and snacks.
How to take part?
In 2024, the Vamos Trilhar project carried out more than 520 trails, in which more than 22,000 São Paulo residents took part. And there are many more to come, so take note of the tips so you don’t miss out!
Registration for the trails is free and available monthly on the website. Registration for all the trails in April, for example, will only be available in the last few weeks of March. Places are scarce and there’s a lot of demand, so don’t leave it to the last minute!
