What to do at Três Pescadores Park?
One of the highlights of this newest tourist attraction is the ferry ride. When you board, you’ll follow the path of the fishermen, the first devotees of Maria Aparecida, to the exact spot where they found the image of the saint in the 18th century. Tickets start at R$49.00, but if you just want to wander around the park, you’ll be charged R$12.00.
In addition, the park houses a replica of the Fishermen’s Village, which takes visitors back to the time when it all happened. On the tour, you will also pass by a set of seven panels by the artist Adélio Sarro, which illustrate the first miracles attributed to the image.
The Três Pescadores Park is home to the Bird Refuge, a space dedicated to the rehabilitation of macaws, toucans, parrots, maritacas and other rare birds from the national fauna that are under threat. Reptiles and mammals such as agoutis, iguanas and jabutis also reside in the animal sanctuary. In other words, it’s quite an experience for those who love animals to be able to see them up close!

Miraculous fishing reenactment
The attractions at the Three Fishermen ‘s Park don’t end there! On Saturdays, the theater group CIA Cultura Sem Fronteiras stages the Miraculous Fishing Act, which tells of the moment when the three fishermen found the image of Our Lady in the waters of the Paraíba do Sul River in 1717.
