If you’re looking for a different and affordable tour in São Paulo, you need to visit the Tranquilo SP. This itinerant and truly secret event takes place every Monday, revealing its artists and venue only on the previous Saturday.
With a suggested contribution of just R$30, this tour offers an intimate and authentic musical experience. In addition, the aim is to highlight independent artists in unique places in the city.
We were there for the June 17th edition, at the historic União Fraterna. This evening, we had the chance to see performances by Lunadi, Dexter and Samuca and the Jungle. Check out everything we’ve discovered about Tranquilo below.
Tranquilo SP: a secret and accessible event
Tranquilo is more than just a show; it’s a journey of musical discovery and connection.
That’s why every week, independent music lovers wait for the artists to be announced, just two days before on the official Instagram. Tranquilo also doesn’t have a fixed location, which is announced alongside the weekly program.
This expectation contributes to the magic of the event, turning each edition into a new adventure through the Brazilian music scene. This intimate experience allows the public to absorb and appreciate each new artist to the full.
In a city as large and diverse as São Paulo, Tranquilo offers a unique opportunity to discover new music and reconnect with the city. The suggested contribution is R$30, after all, the organization wants this event to be accessible to everyone, ensuring that art remains within the reach of many.
Finally, starting at 8pm and ending at around 11.30pm, the event is perfectly timed so that the public can use public transport to get there and back. In other words, accessibility is present in every detail of the project.
A community passionate about music
Starting out as a small soiree in Belo Horizonte, Tranquilo has grown and now also takes place in São Paulo, bringing thousands of people to discover new talents and rediscover the city through music.
But make no mistake. This initiative is not just a party, but a mission to create and organize a large community of people who love the music of free artists.
Tranquilo has thus become a meeting point for artists and audiences, creating an experience where everyone is “listening with open hearts”.
With more than 300 editions and an audience of 43,000 people in 2023 alone, the event stands out as a multiplatform for the propagation of independent art. As the organizers describe it:
It’s a place of discovery, an encounter where magic happens and we really feel present.”
