The São Paulo Food Film Fest 2026 returns in October for its largest edition to date, featuring 42 films and four Brazilian premieres. The free film festival brings the city of São Paulo to life over two weeks with panel discussions, demonstration classes, workshops, and a variety of culinary activities.
Celebrating five years of history, the film festival features a special program focused on film anniversaries. The event pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of “Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands” and other hits celebrating “milestone anniversaries” in 2026, such as “Spirited Away,” “Count on Me,” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
In addition to watching the classics, the audience will be able to sample dishes that appear on screen! How about joining Alice’s tea party or trying Matilda’s chocolate cake?

The 2026 São Paulo Food Film Fest will feature panel discussions, premieres, and interactive workshops
At this year’s film festival, audiences will see the national premiere of “Jota Urondo, An Impertinent Chef, ” an Argentine feature film that portrays cuisine as cultural heritage. Two highlights from the Cannes Film Festival will also be featured: “Love and Cheese” and “In the Shadow of the Fig Trees, ” which are coming to São Paulo with the support of the French Embassy in Brazil.
To round out the lineup, the program includes “The Story of Aisha, ” which explores grain milling in Palestinian cuisine, and “Seeds, ” about structural racism in American agriculture.
In addition to screenings, the festival offers discussions that bridge the gap between cinema and gastronomy, as well as hands-on activities , such as demonstration classes with chefs and audiovisual and culinary workshops for children.
