Can you imagine sleeping inside a wine vat and admiring beautiful vines from the window when you wake up? At Quinta do Olivardo this is possible without having to fly to Europe. After all, the pousada is closer than you think, in the charming town of São Roque, in the interior of São Paulo, 70 km from the capital.
So, if you were looking for a cozy place in the middle of nature, with good food and, above all, delicious wines to taste, consider staying here and enjoying everything it has to offer.
About Quinta do Olivardo’s unusual wine barrel accommodation
The complex offers five barrels for visitors to stay in. In the past, they held up to 100,000 liters of wine, but have been adapted to become cozy apartments.
The Tonel Uva Tinta Roriz is the most complete of all, with a hydromassage, a balcony with a breathtaking view and a warm fireplace for cold days. It sleeps up to four people and the daily rates vary between R$1,350 and R$1,450.
The Tonel de Uva Chardonnay, on the other hand, holds the same number of guests and costs between R$1,050 and R$1,150, making it a more affordable option. It also has a bathtub, air conditioning, Smart TV, minibar and very cozy beds.
If the price still doesn’t fit in your pocket, don’t worry! In addition to the barrels, Quinta do Olivardo has a few chalets with daily rates starting at R$650. They also have access to the beautiful grape vines and visitors can enjoy breakfast and a swimming pool.
What to do in São Roque?
Quinta do Olivardo offers a wide-ranging leisure experience in itself. There, you’ll find a Portuguese restaurant that is already enchanting from the look of it: its tables are located under the vineyards. The menu also leaves nothing to be desired, with traditional codfish and pastéis de nata (custard tarts) on the menu. In addition, the space has a new restaurant, Senhor Vinho, another gastronomic experience not to be missed.
But São Roque is a city to be explored, especially if you like good wine. If you’re there, it’s also worth visiting other places such as the Góes, Bella Auror, RilaVida, Casa da Árvore and XV de Novembro wineries.
